Alright, this post is a day early. I am going to blog about my presents I got for people and my buys for this month. Other than the one I already blog about.

My bolster from Yogi:

Mami throw away my bolster so for about 4 months I have no bolster to hug to sleep. For a person who cant sleep without bolster, surprisingly I survived. But this is a nice addition. It is about a meter long and very soft to the touch.

Samples for this month. Have not tried any of them. But I just love free stuff. Especially the red wine mask.

Bought smoked salmon and perrier. My last meal on Earth if the world ended that day on the 21st. So yummy. The salmon doesn't taste fishy at all, so it was great.

Went to Daiso to get presents for people. And I got this in mix berry. The lavender was very light. This one is also light. Only managed to smell it when the air con is full blast and the door was closed. I came back after washing up and smell the berries. Just once though. So I do not recommend this. At least the lavender one, the smell is there when you brought it close to your nose.

Bought the 2-ring file for Kelly. The one that is hard covered. So when you hold it, you look professional. While hugging it, Kelly was like you want to buy land?

Raissa got the brush detergent which most beauty blogger recommend. She need to wash her brush since she use her blusher everyday.

Found this too. I prefer the no dates one. But that one is like with lines, and I prefer mine without so I can write as big or as small I want on that date. So, no choice but to get this. Even though my this year diary can last till March.

For gifts ideas. It was so puzzling and confusing as what to get. Have to get for the partners which is the hardest. The girls are alright but guys, nah.

End up settled by walking along Kinokuniya. With HM a long time ago, we saw these cute Jap magazines which include cute free gift, like bags or pouches. I wanted to get the the jewellery pouch as it was unique. There was no one that has it or made it or sell it. But the price was not worth it for my own use. For present though, it never hurt to pay more. So who loves more than to travel and bring along her rings collection. Tiany! She always tried to put on all her rings and wondering which one she should bring or use. Then she spend forever deciding. Now she can just put it in the pouch.

Then saw the MJ make up pouch, which just remind me of Raissa. So just get it for her.

Was looking for earrings for mami when I saw the this cute ribbon one. Remind me of JY with her obsession of ribbon before she and Hannes got together.

For someone who wanted to be an air stewardess in SQ, I got her my favourite eyeshadow in blue. That will teach her to learn t o apply blue. Well, if she is lucky she will get brown, but we shall see. Plus the cute waterproof pouch for travelling.

For Hannes who was staying at few places, I got him shaver. So he could have one for home and another at some place else, so he can shave in peace without having to bring it around.

Bram got something that smell baby powdery. A mini set of after shaving cream and cologne. Hope they like the smell.

Rachel will get cute earrings.

For birthday pressies, I basically spend my whole pay check on Sop presents. So she better appreciate me. Kidding. She deserved something wonderful, other than her bf. Well and for sticking with me after all these years.

Michelle got a Burberry notebook. I hope she likes it. As she used to collect notebooks. It will be nice to get something extra for a 21st. And if she decide to use it, she can be in some cafe in Europe writing things down.

HM got her early present, I don't know if she received it yet. A cake pop maker. Hope it will helps her to be the best baker in the world.

Now after this, it will be Kalai birthday in Feb, followed by Yogi, Kelly, Raissa and the year will go on. It will be a never ending money spending year. I really do need to stop random shopping. But I just cant help myself. I want to buy so many nail polish. Help. 

Nail polish comparison

This post is a long time coming. I love nail polish so it is surprising I never blog bout it more often. But most of the time I have it on my tumblr. Link at the side.

So we shall compare this light lilac color which I love but always never get to buy for myself as I always prefer to get another pink. Follow by yellow and blue. Love pastels. Love purple but I never seem to purchase it in the end.

When I got this Revlon scented perfume in Gum Drop for Christmas (thank you guys), I was like haha finally I have a lilac color. I can finally do a full spring collection of pastels. Little did I remember, I actually have one at home.

I am talking about Zoya Miley. I bought it as I wanted to try out Zoya. It was alright but wasn't that great as it was a sheer jelly like polish. Not that jelly that can be layered, but more sheer and a pain to put on. Usually I have to put 3 thick coats and let it dry overnight to finally be opaque enough to use it.

So it is not advisable to use on real hand. Unless you don't mind the sheer finished. The texture is fine, it is just the finish I do not like, even though the color is so pretty. That is why I am glad I have a new varnish.

 

Unlike the rest of the scented perfume polish I got from Revlon, this one is not scented after drying. So that is the downside. But like most Revlon polishes, it is watery,dense and strangely easy to apply. The color is pretty. Pastel, soft and feminine. It is light as one coat and opaque after two. So it is buildable. I used two coats and it is not thick and dry lovely. Fast and doesn't fall off after three days. So it is a bonus.

 

While Zoya has a better lasting power, Miley is just too sheer. So if you are looking for a pretty lilac, you can try Revlon Gum Drop.

Chocolate addiction and haul

Chocolates! Magical chocolate. Truffles. Alcohol. All the yummy sinful little snacks. Fattening but worth every bite as all is yummy. Cept maybe a little too little of alcohol. I need more. I still have one more set which I never take a photo, given as a Christmas present. That, I shall only eat after the new year. Shall do a 13 going 30, where you just drink the alcohol and throw away the chocolate. Ok that's stupid, I am legal to get drunk with pure spirit.

Chocolate with bailey. 2 of them for Christmas. That is absolute madness. Ate it just for fun. Bailey not strong enough. Chocolate covered marshmallow is yummy. Easy microwave brownie. Super duper yum. Get it! Especially if you do not have an oven or lazy to bake. Highly recommended. It is Betty Cooker anyway. You can so trust her.
The best of course is my Sally Williams. I am just scared that this only for Christmas. I wonder if normal days you can actually buy it. The rest of you, I highly recommend this nougat. It is so nice. Can be bought at NTUC fairprice finest at $9.90 for 9 pieces. Worth every bite. Well I take 3 bites per piece. So that is like 37c per bite.

Two seperate group of people went to Melbourne. Well I would prefer to get Sally Williams, but since I found it here, I never expect much. But, I got a bunch of chocolate, macadamia snacks and soft nougats. My favourite!
Nougats is so nice, the chocolate nougat is chocolaty. The lemon is lemony, oh well you got the point. Me think that mondo nougat is better than the normal brand you can find in Singapore, aka golden boronia. The giant one is even better. It is bigger so I get to eat more. Haha. The macadamia is super nice too. Must get that more.
Now if only someone go to Paris and bring home macarons. If you are in Melbourne though, then you should be getting weird animal meat that cant be found elsewhere. Call me cruel and not an animal lover, but I got to live life and eat and try stuff.

I want to try kangaroo, emu, crocodile meat. I found these online as things to buy from Melbourne. So I ask Kelvin to get it for me. And he is the sweetest, he got it! 2 of them. I've yet to try. Too precious. I bet it just taste like any normal beef jerky. Oh well.

For work, Watee got this for me. She gave each one of us lolly. So nice of her. She said she wanted to go out. And she came back with this. Hehe.

Lipstick depot

It is so much harder to actually depot your lipstick. Well in my head it was just making it melt and pouring it into the container. In reality it was much more difficult. The lipstick just doesn't want to work with you.

I use the oil burner thing with a bit of water. Then put aluminum over it and place the broken lipstick particles into it. The aluminum was not the proper sheet. I use whatever was lying around at home. It doesn't have a proper base. It was too small to cover a base so I had to pile it up which in turn make the lipstick leak.
Somehow even when the water is hot the lipstick just doesn't want to melt. In the end after waiting for so long it melted. But. It was so freaking inconsistent. It was not watery. After pouring whatever I can into the container, there was so much more left on aluminum. So I had to reheat it. And whatever on the container was not smooth and it was just awkward looking.

I even try putting the aluminum over the fire directly. It just turned black and gave a pork roast smell. Yummy but weird.

YouTube told me that I should not fill the container till full as it will expend. But right I can't even filled up to half of the plastic. See the picture, it's not nice looking right? Plus I made such a mess at the work area.

At least it's done. The rest that stick to the aluminum just can't be help. My fingers are in pain. They got burned.

Updated: I just burned the aluminum. Aluminum can burn? It got on fire and panic and threw it to the floor. It could bun the whole wires of laptop chargers. I took Kelly blanket and put out the fire. Ugh. All I can think now was if only I took a picture of that fire. It was pretty cool. 

Have yourself a very merry Christmas

Raissa planned a party. Had to crack head to buy presents for everyone. Such a hard decision. My budget was $30 per person. Just a rough guide. I spend way too much. Even though Kelly present is like $3. (A Daiso file and calendar chocolate on sale) Hopefully, my pay will help to cover it. Money has been tight this year.

My presents in total. Some are birthday gifts and a few are Yogi’s.

I made goodie bags too, for the guys party, the cousins and people at work. This is so classic me. Managed to stop by at the hotel, but was not planning to stay. It was just different. If Nata was free, I’ll go with her, but she wasn’t. I thought she went back to Batam as she never replied my whatsapp. End up she had her own plan.

Ok, just imagine all these presents. A whole bunch of them. If only it’s all mine.

This is my first present I received this year.

It is nicer than the one from Chocz as it is much bigger by like 1mm? But it is more filling in a way that you eat is more full. Get it?

Oh well, time for the party.

Plus a whole bunch of alcoholic chocolate which I will blog about it soon. Sephora vouchers, sleeping pants filled with rose design which I am wearing now while typing all these. I guess I am old, so no more cute cartoony prints for me. Oh well. I can’t wait to start painting on my nails. SO much to play with. Especially the FACE it check check nail kit.

Gossip Girl Series

I do not like the last episode of Gossip Girl. It is like very documentary like, and even though it solve pretty much everything, but I don't think it is thoughtfully plan. It is like they just trying to end it. So they just throw everything and blame it on Dan as the gossip girl as it made the most sense. An outsider who is trying to get back in.
Even the part where Rufus was like you blasted Jenny losing her virginity to GG, and Dan trying to explained. It was alright, but if you really know all along Dan was GG when you first started watching it. Then you would confirm say it cant be Dan. It was just too something. Wasn't that perfect.

The problem with this series is that the main character are just them. Like dated each other and just basically too involved with each other. They casted in other characters but it wasn't there. Georgina suddenly become a main character. If they can add her in, why not the rest?
Like most TV series, every season will change with added or less off characters. But for GG it is just reoccurring characters. It is alright, but can definitely be better.

The thing I love bout the show is the fashion. I love Blair conservative outfits since season 1. Chuck's not so much. Nate used to be the cool guy everyone want, but in season 5 and 6, not so much. He became such a boring character. Just a supporting character to Chuck's(to keep Blair updated).
The ending is nice, they show the characters that actually was featured finding out bout the identity of GG. I just wanna know what happen to Vanessa.
I also like that Jenny and Eric came to the wedding. But it will be cuter if Blair's son is younger. I guess they just want him to dress up like his dad.
The NY Spectator advertisement bout Ivy's bestseller book turn into a movie. Awesome! Lola and what's that Hilary Duff's character name, acted in it. Love it!

The thing I do not like is the fact that William is the bad guy. He manipulated Ivy, and yet he got to be with Lily. Just not right. I do not like him. He should be out casted.
Middle of the series, it gets boring. I stop watching like mid of season 2. Then got nothing to do so watched it again and it repeated.
Storyline gets boring.
People play around with each other. Like the circus, they sleep around with each other. Should just do a big orgy.
It shows you do not have to finish school to make it big. None of them finished college. Blair is super smart, but she end up in fashion. Which is ok, cause she has awesome style and her mom own her own company, but wth, she could be better.
While I love Dorota, it will be nice to actually just see her with her kids. Watching the show is like showing Dorota work 24h and no time for herself. Even though Blair did stated that Dorota was upset as her husband brought the kids somewhere.

All in all, while I do appreciate the on off friendship of Blair and Serena, it would be nice to see them together more often. It was definitely different from the book, which I fall in love with in Primary 5. So ya, the spin was so huge. Different. Yet the ending is nice closer. Really the final chapter.

I wouldn't miss it.

So other than 121212. Its naturally nicer for 20122012. It's the same number. People should get married today. Especially since Mayan said gonna end of world tomorrow. I'm assuming it's the Greenwich time of 21st. We shall see.

It's my friend 21st birthday. The longest friend I have. Second person to ever talk to me in school. Hardly meet her now. But she occasionally appear in my dream and make me feel better. Spiritually.
Weird huh?

21st. On 12 of 12. Nice number. Filled with 1 and 2.

Oh well. Wishing her the best of luck in everything she does. The best of everything. A fun time in Amsterdam for her coming semester. Awesome holiday trip to New York. And so on.

Why Sg no black friday?

I really love this month, I mean Dec issue of Cosmo. It is white. Looks so neat and clean. Very classy.

The only other thing I got this month is from Watson's member sale. It was fun.

Brave

Brave, a disney movie that I finally got to watch. Surprisingly it's a really short movie. Actually not not surprising, as disney movies are always short.

And as any movie, there will always be a moral of the story, so I was trying to find out what's it about. The commercial was saying how you are to follow your destiny. It just give me an idea of how the main character made a wish and hope her life would change. That everyone has a destiny and you are the one who made it.

Then I watched the show, so the destiny she change is not hers, but her mom.
I guess she did not want to get married, so she choose her own lifestyle. What she did not know, a life as a normal princess is pretty awesome too. The mom is awesome. She can make men stop fighting.

She made a deal to the witch and made the mom a bear. A bear when she young took her dad leg. So the dad hate the bear. And so now they were chasing her mom.

I don't know what the moral of the lesson is, but I guess it is about listening. It is about being appreciative of others. It is about being brave and do what you have to do? I guess so.

Octoberfest

Say hello to Furby. My battery operated toy. It seems now all we need is battery operated something.

Makeup set and brushes, perfume holder, nail polish. Ya ya, cant help for people to keep buying me polishes. Haha, I love them. But cant buy them, so get others to buy them. Lol.

Dotting tools. I finally have a set. But I do realize with this one, most of the sizes are the same. So I am thinking that it’s a fake?

I also bought frying pan, more present, fake lashes, etc. Lots of output actually, but most I did not take a picture of, so sadly future me cant see it. I really need those nail art pens. So much easier to write out on nails than paint them.

I cant wait for the 3rd to be over.

So a while back, Pat came back to Sg. And we hang out and we had fun.

Happy birthday to me

Yes another year has pass. Happy "18th" birthday to me. Do I look 18 now?

So, I woke up with a cake on the table. Mushroom soup, salad and abalone with broccoli. (5 pieces of broccoli). For dinner, I went to Saveur at Purvis St. Had been wanting to go there for a long time, so finally managed to. Foie Gras with Apple and Port Wine Sauce,  Angel Hair Pasta with Minced Pork and Shrimp, Crispy Duck Confit with Orange Segments and Shittake, Chicken Roulade with Foie Gras Stuffing and Basmat. Yum yum. Love the foie gras with apple soaked in red wine. For dessert, had cocktail and frozen yogurt. Had redmango as it was on the way, but it wasn't nice. At least I got to eat mochi, so it wasn't a lost.

 

Got a lovely hand made card. It is cute.

 

Chocolate from Choz. I love the bailey truffle one. So yum. Bought this cause wanna make use of the $10 discount you get from Esplanade. Esplanade is celebrating its birthday in October, so all October babies can collect $10 voucher, with minimum spend of $20.

 

The words are just so right.

 

It has been a good day. It was fun. Going on dates and receiving presents. Too bad its not everyday you get to celebrate your birthday.
