Not exactly a truck but oh well. Turn out its pricy. 150B. But so worth it. Still cheaper than Sg.

Worst dining experience

I always love the place. They have really great food. The price is in the mid range. Like around $20s for a tiny main course without a set. It won't be enough. So you will order sushi and sashimi and others. It can get costly. Anyway decided to go since it had been forever.

We got a table for 10 in the centre which is awkward but not a problem. Me, Rai, Kel and mami came in first. It is weird after sometime they did not come over and ask if we wanted to order drinks first. Usually any restaurant will ask. They wouldn't let you sit there with no drinks. Never it's ok.

Time to order. The waitress was not a happy person. I guess cause its a Sunday and we are around her age, she wanna be out and enjoying herself instead of working. So she took the order going one round. She took Rach and Rais order and I ordered too. She still ask me how I would like my steak. I told her medium. Then I was talking to Kelly bout drinks. She wanted to know the different between cocktail and mocktail. The waitress was behind me. She said drinks order will take later. I said ya and continue talking to Kelly. She repeated drinks will take later. I was like ya I know. Maybe she didn't hear me. But I was talking to Kelly bout drinks and not telling the waitress what I want. So I don't know what's her problem. And even if I want drinks why can't I order. My uncle did before she came over to me. I guess she was at my place cause she was waiting for my order. But I did order when she was standing between Rais and Rach. So I don't know why she can forget. If she wanted to know if I like anything else other drinks she could have said anything else.

She move on Hannes and JY as they were still choosing what they want. Anyway mami was like talking to Tiany bout how the was not right in Indo. And after that she became nicer. T still can say but she don't understand Indo what. Mami said ya but from our facial expression she can tell. I bet if any of you reading here were with us yesterday night, you will be pissed off at the service.

Thankfully the food standard is still good. Rather small. Smaller than usual but still yummy nonetheless. Oh a but slow. Usually the starter will come out first. But this time it's over the place. Nevermind. Lastly JY food and our starter haven't come when most of us are finishing our food. My mom order more snacks and we ask for JY order. The person can say coming in 2 minute and ask if she want soup with it.

Finally our little snacks came but JY order still haven't come. After like 10 minute more, Hannes ask for the manager. She still can say which one. Manager is manager does it matter who? Both managers are the same. Just it's up to them to decide who want to handle us.

When the male manager come, Hannes told him what happen. The first thing he did was to defend himself saying he was busy seeing customer in and out of the shop. I mean which right manager will defend himself or herself. Like come on. The first thing you do is apologies. Then go check the order.

He did check the order and said it was not in the system. Anyway all of us go crazy. Soft of. And mami point out to the waitress who take our order. Luckily Om Andree was like ok nvm, people make mistake.

But really. You got the cheek to tell us it's coming in 2. Then ask if we want soup. We take it you know which order haven't come. I think most waitress will double check at this of point to see which food haven't come. Go to the kitchen and tell the customer which one haven't been brought up. Then at least we can oh how bout the blabla. Then at least we know it's not ordered.

It's an amateur service. I never had problem with any restaurant before. And this place is a well know usually super long queue place. So I don't know why they can screw up so badly.

I alway see the waitress gather together laughing and talking among themselves. Either near the kitchen or the drink station. Anyway there is a point Rach not happy cause the way they refill her water. I don't know who cause I never see but that person hold the brim of the glass the place where you put your mouth when you take a sip. Yup they hold it there carry it and pour the drink. Firstly, our mouth been there aren't you gross out. Secondly your hand, I don't know where it has been.

It just started out with bad waitressing from one not professional girl. So it make the night much worse.

She did not repeat the order. We were like oh she will screw up.

Actually there was a part when me and Rai order the drink. She ordered passion fruit, I took mango. Then when the drink came they said it was both passion fruit. Luckily when we test, one is indeed mango.

Back to the waitress when we orders the drink she just wrote it down not acknowledging that she took our order. So we are not sure but assume as she is writing so intensely that she took the order.

The second thing I am not happy is that this people don't apologize. Seriously a fake sorry will make the situation much better. Just a word. Not say it at the end when it's a little too late. Really disappointing.

Most restaurant will give out free dessert. I even know of some people who get to eat for free and get $100 voucher for future use. Which is only right. Lousy service who want to come back but maybe cause got voucher then can consider. But it's not in this restaurant who give such good consideration to the customer. I don't know why but don't they want to protect their reputation? Now all they do is give a bad impression to a bunch of young adults. They have tarnish their name into places I won't go no matter how nice their food is. Oh they do have other brunches.

At least in the end the male manager keep bowing and apologizing. And they remove the 10% service charge off our bill. But still. We are just too upset with the experience.

Plus working in F&B before and Rach is working in one now, we just know what it is to be expected from us. So it's really disappointing that they don't put in any effort. I feel like they have an internal conflict between the staff. Maybe both managers are not happy with each other that's why the male defend himself first. I don't know if others experience the horror like us but I don't wish it upon anyone.

If you really think about it, it's just a meal not ordered. So it shouldn't be such a big deal. Why do I have to make it big? I guess it's cause of those little things starting with the waitress. She kind of set the wrong mood. I've seen 16 years old newbie wait table better. No excuse for her. Shouldn't have attitude us from the start.

Oh well disappointing experience from one of my favorite restaurant in Singapore.

It's another month gone. We are half way through 2013. Pretty fast huh. I won the mememe Singapore contest and I bought a new bag.

My trip to Bkk in general

Let just start with a really cute picture of Kelly.

Bangkok was alright. Went by Jetstar and went home by Scoot which is a really huge plane (3-4-3) as compare to Jetstar 3-3. It was so hot, that I almost melt. I perspire a lot. I guess that’s why many use those no sleeve singlet shirts.

Our hotel was really terrible. It was is a small lane really remind of Geylang area minus the girls. Really a small lane that cars, vans, tuktuk, motors and pedestrians had to fight into. Is like a car and a half in width. And basically they use it as 2 lanes. Really just a bad shabby place for me. But if you are a blogshop owner or love buying clothes like that, you will love the place. Cause exactly that is where First House Hotel is located. Go down and you can start buying at least 3 pieces of clothing in a shop until 4pm.

First House Hotel is an apartment kind of hotel. Remind me like those Fragrance hotels. But the location really bad. I took taxi there, and there was a massive jam in the city. Like we were stuck in the Centralworld that stretch of road forever. Taxi cost 700B. My dad friend took taxi, reach city at midnight cost just 200+B. So ya, way overprice for us.

We went to the new airport and you just have to keep going down to take the train to the city. I never took the train at all when I was there. So I don’t know anything about it. I don’t know even know what is my nearest station at. Baiyoke hotel is like behind us, sort of, and that is like 150m from the train.
Our hotel is the lane at Glow hotel, Shibuya 19 there. There is also the famous wanton mee that many Singaporeans go to. It is nice but the portion is small, don’t be fool by the huge bowl. The lady know how to speak chinese, so there wont be a problem and they close at 4pm.
Here is a blur picture. Just order the dry, cause if you put in the soup, it become tasteless. They have rice with pork, pork dish(like those knuckle and stuff) and wanton soup which is nice too. The wanton mee also have with crap meat at 10B more, cost 60B.

Back to the hotel, from the wanton mee stall, walk further down.

It wasn’t bad if you look at this. But we were not liking the location.

The bathroom, I do not like. The shower is just covered with shower curtain. Even the flooring is lower, the water will travel out. I do not like wet bathroom. And I have to use my old clothes to soak the access water on the floor. The toilet, when you sit on it, your left leg will be so close to the wall. The soap, they gave us 2 bars, tiny bars which is really hard to lather up. Shampoo from sachets. Hair cap and cotton buds. No toothbrush too which lucky I brought my own since I am used to it. I also brought along conditioner and soap which I gave my mom to use.
The bed is so hard and the blanket is clothes which is kind of torn. It was just a piece of thin fabric thing covered in white sheets that budget hotel tend to have. The floor which is the corner of the rooms are not really clean too. No save, so had to use our luggage as one. My fave part of the room was the shower head as I did want to have the rain shower.

For 2 rooms, 3 nights, booked at Agoda with 10% UOB card, the hotel cost me $330 inclusive of breakfast. That is what I practically eat on those 3 days. There is also plain rice, fried rice (tasteless), scramble eggs, yogurt, salad, guava and pineapple.

There is also bread which you can toast with butter, jam (strawberry and orange?), cornflake and coco cruch. The drinks are coffee, tea, milk(H&C), pineapple, orange and water. I usually drink coffee with milk and sugar or just plain.

Let’s sip coffee has terrible greentea frappe. It’s located below Novotel and beside Platinum there. This is a shopping mall like Far East or Bugis street. So, you can really enjoy there. Basically the whole area is like that. 

Chinatown is must to go. One of the taxi driver said there was a temple or something there, which I don’t really understand. Anyway, the food street open at 6pm until late night. One of the highlight there was this old lady in a sort of truck, at the left side of the road. If you facing opposite of the direction of traffic then its on the right. Anyway, surround her was durian and she sell this mango and glutinous rice. The portion is a lot. But it is too little for me cause I love it. I can eat it non stop. You can choose mango or durian or just eat the durian itself. And she can speak chinese. There is an assistance outside of the truck too.

 

My favourite find there. Watermelon milk. Taste like the juice with a hint of milk. But not those white milk which I hate. But ya I love it. The potato chip is really yummy too. The thickness is just right.

Temples and holy places.

Safari world.

Just go there watching shows after shows. Each animal kind of have their own personal trainer. The dolphins, 6/8 of them were divided into pairs per trainer as their act require them to be together. It was awesome seeing them perform. The sea lions practically do every acts there are.
The school children are part of our entertainment too. The Japan International kids are really damn cute. Until one pedo guy came and sit with the girl and force her to look into the camera his friend taking. I was like wth he force her to take a picture with him. The friends all in the end report to the teacher, but as kids, they never really clearly point out what is it they were trying to say. That pedo guy took a picture of an Angmoh boy sitting on the stair with his mom too.
The other school children is like the whole of the school and they take up like half the space. And they sing along with the host before the dolphin show begin. Really entertaining as two kids came up to the “floor” to dance to like Thai famous song which remind me of Gangnam style.

That basically is it. Never do much, but it was a good holiday nonetheless.
