Day 28

I can't believe February had ended. Like I was just oh no Chinese new year soon. Visit relative and such. But it's practically over.

This month I shop a lot. Like duh. It is not a surprise really. More 红包 more money. But I shop for wallet, bag and a wristlet.

See, so cute it matches my bed sheet and blanket.

I also got myself a Shu Uemura eyelash curler. Those up there people either use Shu Uemura or Shiseido. I already have the Shiseido, and the more I read, research, watch tutorials and such, the more I spot Shu Uemura. So I just wanna compare the two. And here's a little review.
Shu Uemura is great for those who are scared to use lash curler. When you tighten the curler, the side has a gap that prevent your eyes from getting pinch. It doesn't tug on your skin as it doesn't touch your skin. It is not scary to use curler anymore. Plus it is wider than Shiseido.
For the other one has the softest pad ever. It's the rubber pad that usually is black in color. It's so soft that you can keep clamping it over and over and you don't feel scare that your lashes will break. I love it so much, but only after I adjust it to my eyes and make sure it doesn't clamp the side of my eye or the inner corner.
Both curl the same. Hold the same. Manage to curl the ends too, even though it doesn't look like it capture all your lashes.
So both are great but it will be better if they combine. But I did switch it up, and it doesn't work. In fact both pad are actually the same or really really similar. For some reason the Shu Uemura just cut in deeper. More sturdy even though the curler itself is more flimsy(loose). I don't know if non make up user actually know what I'm talking about.
So I guess Shu Uemura is great for quick curling. While Shiseido is more for proper one as it is so much softer.

I got potpourri from Daiso, I just fell in love with the color.

It smells nice too especially when you drop scented oil in it.

I also got this expensive Japanese tissue holder. Or you can put your pad, the female one this time, and it's just so classy and traditional.

I've been carrying tissue in my bag all the time now. Yup, I'm a "girl" now, oh cept when I bring just my wallet out and I know there will be tissue where I'm going to dine at.
When the tissue is full and new it's so nice on its package. But when you kept taking out one by one and you left it in your bag, it mostly torn at the side or tissue decided to come out by itself. So I really need a tissue holder and it just look nice. Oh it's also from Daiso.
I guess it's expensive for a small piece I cloth. However if you get it outside in this kind of traditional Jap pattern type of cloth, it usually cost way much more. Like way more. So I'm happy with what I got.

Oh I did bought some lipstick. It was on sale. I kind of have cognitive dissonance on the color. I mean I do like it, but I think I could be better off with another shade.

I really do not like sales promotion. As a marketing student, I feel so stupid for falling for it every time. Then again, if I justify with my own reasoning, my wants, needs and desire will point to buy buy buy. Ok maybe the want and desire, need I definitely don't require anymore product.

And so for a good strategy to push sale Maybelline color tattoo at Guardian was 2 for $19.90. During the previous Maybelline whole of Singapore sale, it was $12.90 each. So you see, how can I resist? Especially since I wanted to try it forever. And I always can't decide between the two colors; bad to the bronze and tough as taupe. So buy 2 for how much is a really good excuse to purchase them. That's my reasoning and I'm sticking or it.

Ps. The charm was Nata present to me. It's so cute. It's a gnome but it shall be a dwarf.

Gifts ideas

Alright, this post is a day early. I am going to blog about my presents I got for people and my buys for this month. Other than the one I already blog about.

My bolster from Yogi:

Mami throw away my bolster so for about 4 months I have no bolster to hug to sleep. For a person who cant sleep without bolster, surprisingly I survived. But this is a nice addition. It is about a meter long and very soft to the touch.

Samples for this month. Have not tried any of them. But I just love free stuff. Especially the red wine mask.

Bought smoked salmon and perrier. My last meal on Earth if the world ended that day on the 21st. So yummy. The salmon doesn't taste fishy at all, so it was great.

Went to Daiso to get presents for people. And I got this in mix berry. The lavender was very light. This one is also light. Only managed to smell it when the air con is full blast and the door was closed. I came back after washing up and smell the berries. Just once though. So I do not recommend this. At least the lavender one, the smell is there when you brought it close to your nose.

Bought the 2-ring file for Kelly. The one that is hard covered. So when you hold it, you look professional. While hugging it, Kelly was like you want to buy land?

Raissa got the brush detergent which most beauty blogger recommend. She need to wash her brush since she use her blusher everyday.

Found this too. I prefer the no dates one. But that one is like with lines, and I prefer mine without so I can write as big or as small I want on that date. So, no choice but to get this. Even though my this year diary can last till March.

For gifts ideas. It was so puzzling and confusing as what to get. Have to get for the partners which is the hardest. The girls are alright but guys, nah.

End up settled by walking along Kinokuniya. With HM a long time ago, we saw these cute Jap magazines which include cute free gift, like bags or pouches. I wanted to get the the jewellery pouch as it was unique. There was no one that has it or made it or sell it. But the price was not worth it for my own use. For present though, it never hurt to pay more. So who loves more than to travel and bring along her rings collection. Tiany! She always tried to put on all her rings and wondering which one she should bring or use. Then she spend forever deciding. Now she can just put it in the pouch.

Then saw the MJ make up pouch, which just remind me of Raissa. So just get it for her.

Was looking for earrings for mami when I saw the this cute ribbon one. Remind me of JY with her obsession of ribbon before she and Hannes got together.

For someone who wanted to be an air stewardess in SQ, I got her my favourite eyeshadow in blue. That will teach her to learn t o apply blue. Well, if she is lucky she will get brown, but we shall see. Plus the cute waterproof pouch for travelling.

For Hannes who was staying at few places, I got him shaver. So he could have one for home and another at some place else, so he can shave in peace without having to bring it around.

Bram got something that smell baby powdery. A mini set of after shaving cream and cologne. Hope they like the smell.

The rest, food!

Rachel will get cute earrings.

For birthday pressies, I basically spend my whole pay check on Sop presents. So she better appreciate me. Kidding. She deserved something wonderful, other than her bf. Well and for sticking with me after all these years.

Michelle got a Burberry notebook. I hope she likes it. As she used to collect notebooks. It will be nice to get something extra for a 21st. And if she decide to use it, she can be in some cafe in Europe writing things down.

HM got her early present, I don't know if she received it yet. A cake pop maker. Hope it will helps her to be the best baker in the world.

Now after this, it will be Kalai birthday in Feb, followed by Yogi, Kelly, Raissa and the year will go on. It will be a never ending money spending year. I really do need to stop random shopping. But I just cant help myself. I want to buy so many nail polish. Help. 

Nail polish comparison

This post is a long time coming. I love nail polish so it is surprising I never blog bout it more often. But most of the time I have it on my tumblr. Link at the side.

So we shall compare this light lilac color which I love but always never get to buy for myself as I always prefer to get another pink. Follow by yellow and blue. Love pastels. Love purple but I never seem to purchase it in the end.

When I got this Revlon scented perfume in Gum Drop for Christmas (thank you guys), I was like haha finally I have a lilac color. I can finally do a full spring collection of pastels. Little did I remember, I actually have one at home.

I am talking about Zoya Miley. I bought it as I wanted to try out Zoya. It was alright but wasn't that great as it was a sheer jelly like polish. Not that jelly that can be layered, but more sheer and a pain to put on. Usually I have to put 3 thick coats and let it dry overnight to finally be opaque enough to use it.

So it is not advisable to use on real hand. Unless you don't mind the sheer finished. The texture is fine, it is just the finish I do not like, even though the color is so pretty. That is why I am glad I have a new varnish.

 

Unlike the rest of the scented perfume polish I got from Revlon, this one is not scented after drying. So that is the downside. But like most Revlon polishes, it is watery,dense and strangely easy to apply. The color is pretty. Pastel, soft and feminine. It is light as one coat and opaque after two. So it is buildable. I used two coats and it is not thick and dry lovely. Fast and doesn't fall off after three days. So it is a bonus.

 

While Zoya has a better lasting power, Miley is just too sheer. So if you are looking for a pretty lilac, you can try Revlon Gum Drop.

June is in Expo

I think we can safely say that i bought nail polish every month. This is the neon and glow version. I thought at first the red and blue (most left) doesn't glow, then i just realize i don't shake them enough. I know its bad to actually shake your bottles but in this case, its the only way.

The neon color is awesome, 'cept the blue one. It is bright, but not so great as the rest. The orange is a bit dull. Should have gotten the orange neon from china glaze. For pink and green, well, love those colors.

Bought ZA powder, which i always keep stock on. 

Gel eyeliner, Maybelline eye studio lasting dream is something i need. Beside black, there is brown. So i decided to just go bold and be typical with the black liner. Used it to dinner last night, and T was shocked.

I liked the Maybelline BB cream UV which i got from Hk. Turn out, this one comes in a 18ml container, while the UV is 30ml. So it is different, the one in Hk is either UV or Base. In here its clear smooth BB.

Bought tweezers too, cause you can never have enough.

I'm not sure why i get this. I think its the mango pie baby lip. I always like Maybelline Volumn' Express series of mascara, so the Falsie attract my attention. In fact, for some reason, i always use this one instead of the Magnum. I don't really see the magic power of Falsie. It is pretty much the same as the Magnum. So nothing wow about it, but i still love it.

Trip to JB

If there are things i love more than nail polish, it is lip balm(lip gloss, lip stick, lip stuff).

OR

If there are things i love more than lip balm(lip gloss, lip stick, lip stuff), it is nail polish.

Either way, i love them. Was introduced elianto a while back at my birthday. I do love their nail polish. I got one in 10 thulian pink, its a pinkish brownish color. It is cheap and really nice to apply. Real solid color. bought the more expensive one too, the bigger round bottles with glitter in it. Pretty, but it is hard to find nice good solid colors which apply smoothly. So i focus on that more. This time i got S05, S06, S09. The pastel blue, green and purple. I am in love with the colors. I think i love so much colors, but these 3 put together its just awesome. Just need a pastel pink. And yellow. 

The next time, i am buying the yellow and the brown and the darker purple. Plus the others, as long as it is on sale(hopefully, cause the one i got was not). Have i ever type out that sale makes me happy?

Needed tissue, so got winnie the pooh and i am not going to share. 

Finally got my Revlon lip butter. I got one in Macaroon. I did not see that shade in Sg, so when i swatch it, i just love it. I just hope the name could be macaron instead of macaroon. Anyway, had a hard time deciding the colors, but i keep going to that. So i choose that. At home then i realized it was redder than i originally wanted. The color was also close to my red earth one, but more pigmentation so its more red and more fresh. So in the end, after staring at them for so long, i decide it was way different. [There is something wrong with me i find.] 

Cause of the many awesome review out there that i wanted to try the lip butter. And i liked it. So, i will definitely getting more color. Just hope they increase the promotion to 20%.

Burt's bees shimmer in guava, had to try that. Haven't use it yet, cant bear to break the seal. So maybe will try it like ages later. We shall see.

I curled my hair like ages ago. Finally got a Curl Refining Essence. The one i had since forever is a wax for holding curl, which is awesome but this one is not waxy, so its a gel, but doesn't give you that 'hard' hair. I don't know how to explain it. Made in Korea, and smell super nice, but you can only use it on dry hair.

I also got my most use item - lip balm. Smackers! Still love it, since one semester is gone, so i need a new lip balm. My old one is finishing. So now i have two. One for the table one for the bag. One berry and one raspberry. The only different between this and my cookie dough, is that this has a bit of color. Pink to be exact. Cookie dough is more clear.

I also bought Eucerin cover stick for concealer. Jeanne got it. So did T. It is nice as it is a stick, so it is easy to use and it really did its job. My ZA concealer left a bit, so hopefully this will cover it. Well, it should be as the price is twice as the latter. It is just so much easier to use than any other things i have right now.

R got me my eos Lip Balm in Sweet Mint. Heard so much bout it. Its only natural that i want it. After so much consideration, i found the cheap one at G-market. Having no credit card, its an excuse. But heck, he should invest in things i like. Why? Cause I'm happy, that's all that matter. Plus don't guys want to kiss girls with soft lips? So, INVEST!
I just cant stop putting this on my lips. I am obsessed. I read a review and this one girl said that she cant stop using it. I know the feeling, so cant I. Also another one say, that its so cute that she just love to see it on her desk. Yes, its cute. Plus the color match my phone casing.
The flavor remind me of LUSH Mint Julips Lip Scrub. And i have that, so its like a double power thing. Just like using the same scent of shampoo and conditioner or body lotion and perfume. The only downside to this is that the mint could be stronger. I love mint.

Went to expo, was looking for Revlon lip butter, but there was no Revlon. But went to buy a few things. Manicare stuff was 3 for $5. Plus Maybelline mascara. It was the one everyone love. I don't know if it was the right one. I don't remember it was purple. But i guess they change the packaging. But was not as thick as the ZA one I'm using now, so i guess its good for daily and school. Not that thick, but i wish it will spread out more.
Some days when you feel like using thicker mascara, you will just keep applying and applying, but with this, it doesn't get thick.

Bought eyebrow brush and concealer brush.
ZA stuffs its a must as it is 20% + 20%. So, its a good deal. Love expo, as long as someone go with me. With car, even better. Pay for me, that's the best. Plus no crowd, so wee~

April Haul

So as promised, the things I got in March. I don't know why I say I shop a lot, when the pictures show a little. Weird. I feel like I spent so much this much. Plus the Revlon nail polishes that is.

Anyway, the earrings are all from HK. The little coin purse too. I always wanted something like that. A little bag like purse. The one I saw at harbor front is $59.90. The quality is super good though. Really just a mini bag. This one is a purse. Just nice my Lilo doll coin purse is spoil.

Went to daiso, grab the nail art polish.

Bought NYX round lipstick in summer love. Some NYX eyebrow powder in brunette. The body shop vitamin E hand and nail treatment. Essie matte top coat, cause I love matte. (I still can't pronounce that word) Seche Base ridge filling base coat and restore.

Next on the list I need: eye primer, eyelash curler, cuticle oil, mani pedi set, 3D acrylic stuff.
