May Buys

I curled my hair like ages ago. Finally got a Curl Refining Essence. The one i had since forever is a wax for holding curl, which is awesome but this one is not waxy, so its a gel, but doesn't give you that 'hard' hair. I don't know how to explain it. Made in Korea, and smell super nice, but you can only use it on dry hair.

I also got my most use item - lip balm. Smackers! Still love it, since one semester is gone, so i need a new lip balm. My old one is finishing. So now i have two. One for the table one for the bag. One berry and one raspberry. The only different between this and my cookie dough, is that this has a bit of color. Pink to be exact. Cookie dough is more clear.

I also bought Eucerin cover stick for concealer. Jeanne got it. So did T. It is nice as it is a stick, so it is easy to use and it really did its job. My ZA concealer left a bit, so hopefully this will cover it. Well, it should be as the price is twice as the latter. It is just so much easier to use than any other things i have right now.

R got me my eos Lip Balm in Sweet Mint. Heard so much bout it. Its only natural that i want it. After so much consideration, i found the cheap one at G-market. Having no credit card, its an excuse. But heck, he should invest in things i like. Why? Cause I'm happy, that's all that matter. Plus don't guys want to kiss girls with soft lips? So, INVEST!
I just cant stop putting this on my lips. I am obsessed. I read a review and this one girl said that she cant stop using it. I know the feeling, so cant I. Also another one say, that its so cute that she just love to see it on her desk. Yes, its cute. Plus the color match my phone casing.
The flavor remind me of LUSH Mint Julips Lip Scrub. And i have that, so its like a double power thing. Just like using the same scent of shampoo and conditioner or body lotion and perfume. The only downside to this is that the mint could be stronger. I love mint.

Went to expo, was looking for Revlon lip butter, but there was no Revlon. But went to buy a few things. Manicare stuff was 3 for $5. Plus Maybelline mascara. It was the one everyone love. I don't know if it was the right one. I don't remember it was purple. But i guess they change the packaging. But was not as thick as the ZA one I'm using now, so i guess its good for daily and school. Not that thick, but i wish it will spread out more.
Some days when you feel like using thicker mascara, you will just keep applying and applying, but with this, it doesn't get thick.

Bought eyebrow brush and concealer brush.
ZA stuffs its a must as it is 20% + 20%. So, its a good deal. Love expo, as long as someone go with me. With car, even better. Pay for me, that's the best. Plus no crowd, so wee~

HK Sim card

We are using people's. So go 7-11 buy the top up card. People tourist one I think. It's cheaper for use to call oversea. I tried finishing the value by calling Singapore but it never finish.

Call *103# for data plan. 1day, 7 days - hk$38, 30 days - hk$75. Or something like that.

Don't forget to set up the APN setting on iPhone and blackberry.

I should have taken the bus which only cost HK$33. Instead of airport express HK$100. They said the mtr to central will be waived but i am not sure. Take bus, bust go to Hung Hom. Airport express, must go to tst, then go central to transfer. Troublesome.


Oh well, it was the past. If there is other chance to actually go at least now we know.

Look out the window

So there was a camera crew and what not outside. The view from my room is just nice showing the action happening. Anyway its pretty boring. Take forever for some movement down there. They keep taking the same scene over and over again. A lot of people were involve. Surprisingly. I don't know who act, or what cause its about cars. I don't know if it is a show or a movie.
There are people that stop the traffic. From both side of the roads. So basically, the cars in that show are all planned out. Just make me wonder how does the Hollywood people do it, when their cast is huge. No wonder movies cost a lot of movie. Oh well, i am just going to stare out the window for now.
This is not the first time i saw shooting a show in HK.

Waitress

Dear Baby,

So i watched the Waitress. Surprisingly i was so caught up in the movie. It was a good movie. It's about a girl Jenna who married some horrible guy. Well later you will know she married a guy who after marriage change. So poor her. She was saving money to run away. Then she got pregnant. Her husband made her drunk. She went to the doctor and end up having an affair with him. The doc is the guy who play Castle.

It was kind of irritating that she did not just run away or have a divorce. But it is kind of impossible i guess.

She never have any affection for the baby in her tummy. She never tried to harm it or anything. She eat healthy and stuff. But when the baby is born she was so in love that she finally told her husband she wanted a divorce.

And in work, the owner was some old man. She was very nice to him. She was the only one who actually like the old man. And in the end she got a check from him. If i never see it wrongly it was two hundred seventy thousand dollars. That's a lot of money.
Moral of story: always treat an old person nicely. You never know what they will leave behind for you.

The story was about a pie shop diner. A woman who loves to make pie. Make me feels like having pies right now. If only.

There was this part where the doc hold her and she was telling the diary it was so nice to have someone holding you. Just holding.

• Hold you for 20 minuter straight. 
• Wrap you up in their arm without an ounce of selfishness to it.

20 minutes hugs. 20 minutes goodbyes. Remind me of that.

A Star is Born 1954

So there were three version of this movie. The one i watched was the one in 1954. The movie was 3 hours long. Yup that long.

It was a show within a show. 
Pretty normal of like a girl rising into fame, marry the guy who makes her famous, and the guy lost his job and commit suicide in the end. So yah, pretty standard storyline in today context.

Lots of songs as Esther Blodgett was found by Norman Maine singing a song. So it was all about the music. The songs and dance the etc. I like the part where they just show photographs with background speech, makes it more real, like a documentary.

I love the part where he propose to her and she said no, thank you. He asked why not she reasoned. He said stuff, she said he wouldn't be Norman Maine if he does that. Then asked if he really go do all that for her if they got married and he say no, then "that's too much public a proposal to me to say no to, i accept."

The news and paparazzi are told bout them about to get married and stuff. See, no such thing such a nice thing.

It was great that she did not give up. So, its something to learn there. Never give up. And when a star rises another fall. It is quite true isn't it? Like no two person can take the fame.

West Side Story 1961

So, after so long, i finally decided to finish watching West Side Story. It was kind of boring at first, cause everyone looks like plastic. Anyway, there was a lot of mention of the story line. So i roughly get the gish of it. As the story unfold, i discovered how awesome the dancing are. Particularly love the Sharks girls dance in "America".

Songs like "i feel pretty", "tonight quintet" and "somewhere" you heard it all over movies and tvs, but i finally know where its from. So its like cool, a lot of songs are familiar.

Then the one thing i don't get is, the guy you love kill your brother and you still choose him. Seriously, what is wrong with you?
But i guess its a 1960s movie, so its about prejudice-ism and true love. It's pretty romantic if you minus off that stupid part. And its like so cliche where the part Tony kept trying to kiss Maria but always cant.
Then of course the ending must be super dramatic. Haha.
Poor girl, had to slept with a guy who ends up dead moment later.

It is an old movie, so i say just enjoy the songs and dancing and learn not to hate anybody. Peace.

Whats in my fridge?

If I have one that is.

Since I don't, I put an altogether view of what my fridge will be like.

I will have frozen food. Lots of it. Easy, microwaveable and ready to eat. Lots of ice cream. Desserts and chocolates. Sausage and bacon is a must. Especially cheese sausage.
Then I will have a selection of cheese, ham, smoked salmon ready to eat stuff. Eggs, butter, yogurt and yakult, A few cans of red bull for emergency. Maybe Nescafe too. Sweets and chocolates. Guacamole dips. Milo in can and packet and some OJ plus soy milk/milk, bliss yogurt drinks(guava, strawberry and mango). Definitely will have condense milk and chocolate sprinkle. Green tea, coke, coke light and coke zero. Maybe some other can drinks too. Wines and Bailey. A whole shelf of sparkling water!
In the fresh compartment thing, will have strawberry, wine grape and mango and guava and such. Then the other one will be filled with veggies for salad.

Most important: sparkling water.

Catching Fire

The 2nd book of the hunger games trilogy.

I took a shorter time reading this book than the first one. Even though more new characters were introduced for the 75th game. Tried to picture the characters, mostly get it wrong. Haha, apparently i cannot differentiate between male and female name.

The story start by how Katniss had to go tour around the districts. She had been hit with the realization that she will have to be with Peeta to save herself and Peeta. She still wants Gale though.

I actually like the ending. Short and sweet. It sort of explained what happened without being long winded. So it kind of make you feel happy reading the end. It warp up so nicely. And you know there will be a 3rd book. No matter how devastated the ending is, at least you know the last book will fix it. 
I am saying happy for the ending, the happy reading a whole book kind of way. Not the story or plot is happy way.

I guess there really is nothing to talk about the book. It just taught you a few lessons.

• There are eyes everywhere.
• Never fully trust everyone.
• People will use you whenever possible.
• Try to help out whenever possible, especially to the less fortunate.
• It is good to know people and actually listen. You never know what new things you can learn from them. 
• Never forget your roots.

The Hunger Games

It is part of a trilogy and i first heard it from Tumblr.

Rachel told me that i should read the book first before the movie. "The book is so good," she said. Well, she loves anything bout girls rising to power. Anyway, when the movie came out, i didn't really want to watch it. As i have not read the book. And if i did read, will i just end up disappointing. Don't want that either. 2 weeks have pass since the movie came out in theater, i finally read the book.

It was good. 
Details overlapping each other. And thanks to the movie, i can imagine the characters mentioned in the book pretty solid. Usually you just use the description of the characters. This time, i imagine the actors instead. So picturing the people and the place and how the story unfold. Pages by pages, it was more intense by the second. I am talking bout the game itself. Cause that's the only thing that matter. It is the only action happening. I am only engrossed in those chapters.

Nevertheless, i feel the pain of Peeta. Loving a girl from afar. Sad. I like Rue best. Just liked her cause she is young and small. Remind me that you shouldn't underestimate anyone. And her character is just so flow-y like flowers being blown in the wind. I don't know why but that's what she remind me of.

Kalai said that we are playing the hunger game in real life. Instead of actual weapons and physically killing each other, we use it with words and mentally. I couldn't agree more.

We are still living in a society where everyone back stab each other to get on top. I guess it is impossible to stop that. People gossip and such. I do. Even though i bring no harm, just voicing out my anger to trusted friends, it is still consider gossiping. We did say a long time ago in RP year 1, it is not gossiping just a mere discussion if the topic discussed is someone everyone do not like. It doesn't matter. Poor guy still got talked at, even though he may be at fault.

The capitol where people actually enjoy watching people suffer. Remind me of the movie Gamer starring Gerard Butler. Only the latter use criminals not children. Still, people are just sick sometime.

The book show more about politic than just a teenage girl coming of age. It has 12 districts, and its a hierarchy. The capitol rule them and anyone dares to rebel will be punished. So, those living in the bigger number district are suffering, and they have to work the hardest in order to survive. Just like our actual world.

So you should read the book. Watch the movie and compare. I will watch it when the DVD is out. Until then.

Sun Protection Factor

So the sun in Singapore is getting hotter by the day. That's summer for you. It's not even the worse yet, so surely we are expecting higher tempt in the coming weeks. I rather it rain 'cept on those days I need to go out.

Was trying to find the correct number of SPF to use. Well at least the better number. Since if I already put the many layer of stuff on my face with SPF, I wonder if I can skip the sunblock.

The Avengers

So I watched the avengers. It was crowded and filled with kids. Even though it has been going on for almost a week. Well, the story line is alright, the fighting is ok, but some parts are just too lengthy. Like for the fact there are 6 main avengers, but it just drag on and on bout these characters and one hour is gone. It's just not that great. I guess is before the movie, I was watching Game of Thrones and the show is so bloody and gore and awesome. That watching the avengers is just so-so. Plus I love x-men as lots of superheroes in one movie/book/comic. So it's like that movie is not as draggy as avengers.

The flying machine is confusing. I have to watch it again to really get it. Like I think I saw the other "fan, machine" thingy is moving when I know for the fact that the plane was shut down. So how could the other one was moving? Or maybe I see it wrongly.

I like the part when the plane goes invisible. Remind me of chicken little. Haha.

Cap said suit up. Haha- how I met your mother: Barney's phrase. And Robin had to go down from the helicopter when she just like survived a helicopter ride in one of the ep.
A few more of scenes remind me of other movies.

I love the fact that the enemies just keep coming to attack. Usually in movies, they just wouldn't be bothered and end it after the next wave of enemies came. But this one, just kept coming, so it's cool.

I also like the starting when they introduced Black Widow. She's awesome. She can fight.

The hulk when he cannot remove Tron's hammer. Just cute.

Oh how can I forgot, throughout the movie, I was waiting for Hawkeye arrows to finish. Most movies always make it that arrows are infinite. So I was wondering if they do it with this one. And no they did not. So kudos.

I finally also appreciate Captain America, cause I don't really like him. But he is a cap so he has the skills to direct people in situation. War bound guy, he kinda know strategies so he can assign people to do what. In any other movies the one who do that is usually the leader, but in this care all heroes hard to have a leader, and that's where the cap came in as he is like sort of used to doing it. Yup, that's all. At least not that so useless after all.

Unlike Thor cept giving power to Ironman and bringing Loki back.

Nothing much bout Loki. Don't know why they don't bother with building on his character. Cause bad guys will die in the end?

Nothing really wow with this movie is all I can say. It has humor and superheroes. And it is just a movie everyone has really been looking forward to. If you ask me to watch it again, I wouldn't.
While after the movie I do want to watch some selected scene, a day later, I couldn't really bother. Heck I wouldn't even really care bout it. So I guess it's just a enjoyment kind of movie.

But I really do like the atmosphere in the cinema. Lots of kids so lots of little girls, ok only 2, walking around the isle. There were bored. And a seven years old boy asked the same questions as a certain 23 years old guy. It was hilarious.
Plus when Tony Stark said, "son of a bitch", the little boy mimicked soon after. Haha, probably the only time he can curse.

Skin Care and Make Up

So I have been obsessed with make up ever since I came back from HK. I guess it was the fact that in HK, all I did was to play with make up. With the cold weather, you have to like keep your skin moisture. You have to prevent skin dryness as it will flake, with redness. So everyday had to do proper skin care. Then put on make up if not skin will be pale.the only thing I did not do is buy more make up. I didn't have enough money, which is such a pity. Oh why am I not born rich?
Anyway, so after that, came back home to horrible acne all over my forehead. Just like the previous year. More pimple pop over on chin and cheeks. Seriously how old already, I still have pimples. Then a month ago, Kelly was teaching me about YouTube. So all I did was watch YouTube tutorials. I came across Jen from frmheadtotoe. And we both got addicted to her. I don't know why, I think it's her personality. The way she warm up to people. Like it just bright up. Well check out her videos to see what I am talking about.
From there become more crazy bout make up. And even though I know a lot, I also actually know nothing. It doesn't make sense, but there is just so much more things I need to learn. I always wanted to be a make up artist living somewhere foreign. But this is Singapore, you kinda have to follow a proper rule of poly/jc if you are in a normal family. So ya. Bo Bian.
Now, I want to do nail art. Cause it's fun. But it just so hard. Plus, you need inspiration and precision to create a nail design. And if you do on your own nails, it will last at least 4/5 days. Cause I will not bear to remove them so fast. With make up, it's a daily thing. But there is not really a point if you don't go out. But when going out, I always find that I don't have enough time.

What I really learn though is that you need a proper skin care before you can do make up. I also learn that sunscreen is the most important which is the one thing I always ignore. That all has to stop. But I always have no time. Especially in the morning always rushing for school. At night, don't need them. Some time even have no time to use moisturiser. I'm such a pig.
So skin care, there the basic step of cleanse, tone and moisturise. But there is so many other products there like serum and eye cream and lots and lots. So far, I found this website. Read this! It's like the most comprehensive one I came across.

So moral of story, skin care regime is different from make up.

If you don't use make up, at least protect your skin. Do daily skin care routine. Always wear at least SPF30 when going out under the sun. Even if indoor, when there is a glass, you will still need protection from SPF.

Use a primer if you want foundation to stay. After use concealer to cover black eyes and pigmentation and such. Eye primer to prevent crease and oily lids. If can, curl lashes before using mascara. Highlight face with highlighter to shine especially in photos. Fix brows. Make sure it looks need whenever possible. Awesome make up require awesome hair. So care for your hair too as it is the crown of the person you are.

Other than that, I don't really know much.

Take 5ive

This taste really familiar. I just can't figure out what yet. And I got sick to it. It feels like drunk and wanting to throw up. Plus I yawned so many time after taking this.
I never take it in a shot. Took 3 mini shots. First taste just wow. Like taking redbull the taste so weird that it wakes you up. But I like redbull. So it's a bit different. Hmm.
Oh well. After throwing up. I still feel uneasy. I am not sure is cause of the Starbucks or the lack of breakfast that kills me. I wouldn't want to try it again. I shall stick to redbull.

Oh, i also learn that assault is not physical. So as long someone threaten you with a knife, you can say he assault you even though he doesn't attack you with it. Or maybe threaten by mouth/words.

Battery on the other hand is physical. I thought battery is batteries. Apparently it means the act of beating or pounding.
